Software implementation of the OpenAL 3D audio API 

OpenAL Soft is an LGPL-licensed, cross-platform, software implementation
of the OpenAL 3D audio API.

OpenAL provides capabilities for playing audio in a virtual 3D environment.
Distance attenuation, doppler shift, and directional sound emitters are
among the features handled by the API.

Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.

Available build options

jack
Enable support for the JACK audio server.
pulseaudio
Enable support for the PulseAudio sound server.

Known vulnerabilities

The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
